Elk Valley FFA Chapter Sends Wildfire Relief Aid

April 24, 2018

Today was a very humbling experience for Elk Valley FFA Members as we traveled to Vici, Oklahoma to deliver a load of hay and fencing supplies to the fire victims of the recent wildfires that ravaged the area. The people in the area that were victim to the wildfires have experienced such tragedy and loss in the last week and a half that the FFA Chapter felt compelled to pitch in and help.

Agriculture is a way of life. “I believe in the future of agriculture with a faith born not of words but of deeds.” Today I believe that I saw the FFA Creed become much more than just five paragraphs to these members.

We traveled through a small part of the devastated area that the fires burned through. The damage is unimaginable.

Thank you to Justin Corle and Scott Greer for traveling with us and for all of your help with materials.

Also thank you to Belinda Corle, Jamie Cannon and Teresa Kirkpatrick for making sure the students had plenty of snacks for the road!
