Elk Valley USD #283 is excited to announce our transition to Rooms by Apptegy as our primary communication platform for families, guardians, staff, and educators!
Rooms is built directly into the Elk Valley app and website and provides a secure, convenient, two-way communication system all in one place. From messages with teachers and staff to events, announcements, lunch menus, and more — Rooms helps keep our school community connected.
Why Rooms?
One place for every message — no more juggling multiple communication platforms or remembering different logins
Text notifications — families can receive important updates even if they haven’t downloaded the district app
Safe and secure communication — built-in moderation and safety tools help support positive and appropriate communication
As part of this transition, and with administration approval, Elk Valley will be turning off future comments on our social media pages. This change helps us better align with the requirements of Kansas House Bill 2299 and ensure we are providing communication opportunities that are safe, accessible, and appropriate for our students, families, and community.
We will continue sharing the same great Elk Valley news, celebrations, activities, and accomplishments — just with comments disabled.

Rooms will become the primary method for communication between staff, coaches, teachers, and families. It will be live and ready for messaging with educators shortly after Open Enrollment begins on August 3rd.
