Dear Elk Valley Community, I hope this message finds you well. As we closely monitor the weather forecast, it has come to our attention that the impending inclement weather, particularly the forecasted ice and snow, poses a significant risk to the safety of our students, staff, and their families. After careful consideration and in consultation with local authorities, we have made the decision to close Elk Valley Schools on January 9th, due to the predicted weather conditions. The safety of our school community is our top priority, and we believe that this proactive measure will help ensure the well-being of everyone involved. All classes, extracurricular activities, and events scheduled for January 9th, are canceled. We understand that this may cause inconvenience, but we believe it is essential to prioritize the safety of our students and staff. Please stay tuned for updates regarding the reopening of the school. We will continue to monitor the weather conditions and provide timely information about any changes to our schedule. For the latest updates, please check our official website at https://www.usd283.org or download the Elk Valley USD 283 App in your Apple Store or Google Play. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this weather-related closure. The safety of our school community is of the utmost importance, and we thank you for your ongoing support. Stay safe and stay warm! Sincerely, Elk Valley Administration Team

Mrs. Roach’s first-hour art class had the opportunity to visit the immersive Beyond van Gogh exhibit at the OK Museum of Popular Culture in Tulsa this week. The exhibit included an immersive experience in art history that allowed the class to experience Van Gogh's masterpieces by feeling like they were stepping into the paintings and seeing them in a new way

Last week Kindergarten took advantage of the beautiful weather before the cold snap to art outside with Mrs Roach. They completed their chameleon marker projects and then used wet paint brushes to blend the colors. These masterpieces will be displayed in a Rainforest hall gallery when we return to school in January.
